The Musicians

Layne Rico previously formed "Our Daughter's Wedding," and recorded two albums for EMI. Layne wrote ODW's  U.S. Top 40 single titled "Lawn Chairs" as well as the high charting "Target for Life."  ODW toured with the "Psychedelic Furs" and "Split Endz."

A re-release of "Our Daughter's Wedding’s" songs on Almacantar Records has drawn more recent attention to the band’s work.

Prior to GOGOPLEX, Randy Wilson formed “Netherworld,” a progressive rock band as multi-keyboard player, backing singer, and songwriter. Netherworld recorded a high quality, independent album that received wide critical acclaim and legendary status among progressive collectors.

A re-release of Netherworld’s music  on Musea Records has led to a string of extremely positive reviews and many new listeners.

Randy’s Music Bio

Layne Rico  -  Drums, Bass & Keyboards

Randy Wilson  -  Vocals & Keyboards

GOGOPLEX was formed in San Francisco in the late 80’s by two very different musicians. Layne Rico was a songwriter, synthesist, and electronic percussionist who formed the hit producing new wave band “Our Daughter’s Wedding.” Randy Wilson was a singer, songwriter, and keyboardist who formed, "Netherworld,” a critically acclaimed progressive-rock cult favorite. Using classic drum machines, synths, samplers, and an Apple II, Randy and Layne pioneered playing and programming songs that kept human feeling and dynamics using the best electronic gear of the era.

As time went on Layne moved South to fly Gulfstream jets. Randy moved North, then back to Silicon Valley to work for Apple and electronic music companies. As a Pro Tools product manager Randy acquired the gear & skills to retrieve GOGOPLEX' music and enhance it. The result is “Retro,” a CD of innovative, original music with its roots in the 80's. –Coming Soon!
